Thread: Japanese Anime

  1. #11

I see it being anime much like Code Lyoko is. It borrows heavily from the style but truly isn't. Although Avatar isn't anime it looks smother because of the framerate. Anime runs at 30fps while "Amerime" and standard cartoons run at 60fps. Something I wish anime would do. Oh well...

Okay I pretty much understood no part of that.

All I know is Code Lyoko or however you spell it is not anime. It is actually French Animation.

Yes, it is French. But look at it. You can't tell me they didn't borrow the style. Maybe not as much as Avatar but my point remains valid.

fps= Either "First Person Shooter" which isn't the case here or "Frames Per Second" which is. It's a non-issue but Anime runs at half the frame rate as American cartoons. (I have yet to check the animation of other countries and probably won't.)

I guess this is my point: I could make the best looking anime looking cartoon and produce it entirely in the U.S. but that dosen't make it anime. This all resulted because, somehow, anime came to refer specifcally to cartoons made in Japan.

    So. Favorite characters?

Since I really only like Full Metal at the moment and others are nuetral or hated (Naruto).

I like Kimblee, Mustang, and Armstrong.

A list of my faves (In no particular order):
Desert Punk (That's his nickname. I forget offhand what his name really is.)
Schwarzwald. Been one of my faves since I first saw Big O, always will be.
    Lil' Slugger (Aka Shonen Bat).
Alan Gabriel, Alex Rosewater. (Also from Big O.)
Kurumi, Saki, and Karinka. (Steel Angel Kurumi.)

There's quite a few more but I can't for the life of me remember how to spell their names. I feel stupid.

yay! FF7 Advent Children is really good. definitely recommend it.

Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex is good too.

and Bleach. Bleach is what I'm into at the moment. i recommend you give it a go.

and i finished watching the Full Metal Alchemist series last night. :) now i wanna see the movie.

i watched the first 4 episodes of Serial Experiments Lain a while ago, and it is really weird (apart from the fact that the first episode is called weird).

I've seen "Lain" too. I didn't like it. Made very little, if any, sense.

I have all FMA episodes and the movie and plan to buy a state alchemist watch. I have watched Advent Children so much I could recite the lines by heart. I've only seen a few bleach episodes. I want to see the rest because I'm completely lost. I've seen the first episode but missed half the series since then. I have no time anymore :(

I've got one of those. They're a little small, or maybe my hands are big. On the inside they have what Al scrawled inside his. Still not a bad watch for $30 (USD). (I also had to pay for shipping and handling and ordered it with the Negima Vol. 1 DVD Starter set -The one with hard case for all 6 disks.) So it was more like $26.

The clasp is strong, but the chain could be a little iffy if someone were to yank on it. And be prepared to do a lot of polishing because it picks up fingerprints easy.
